LIV Golf Announces New Naming Rights for Virginia Event

LIV Golf has announced new naming rights for the eighth event in their 2025 schedule. The Virginia event, previously known as LIV Golf DC, will now be known as LIV Golf Virginia presented by Ma’aden. The renamed event is scheduled to take place from June 6–8 at Northern Virginia’s Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. The iconic golf course hosted the first four Presidents Cup tournaments in the United States. It also hosted the Solheim Cup in September 2024.

The new naming rights were developed in collaboration with the Virginia Tourism Corporation and LIV Golf partner Ma’aden. Ma’aden is widely regarded as one of the fastest-growing mining and metals companies in the world.

LIV Golf Embraces “Virginia’s Distinct Regional Pride”

LIV Golf is keen to embrace Virginia’s distinct regional pride with the new naming rights. The Saudi-backed league also stated that they will continue to push their mission to build golf’s most advanced global league.

With LIV Golf Virginia presented by Ma’aden, we’re strengthening our connection to the Commonwealth and celebrating the local pride that drives this world-class event. This evolution reflects our mission of bringing bold energy, global vision, and an unforgettable next-gen fan experience to every stop on our schedule,” LIV Golf Executive Vice President and Head of Events Ross Hallett said in a statement released on LIV Golf’s website.

“We are excited to welcome LIV Golf to Virginia’s iconic Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in June. Major sporting events like this shine a global spotlight on Virginia as a premier destination for world-class competition and unforgettable visitor experiences paired with gorgeous landscapes, luxury offerings, deep-rooted American history, and so much more,” President and CEO of Virginia Tourism Corporation Rita McClenny added. “We look forward to showing players, fans, and visitors from around the world that Virginia is for Golf Lovers!”

Ma’aden Launches Partnership-Focused Campaign

Ma’aden has launched a new partnership-focused campaign titled “Unearth Your Potential.” The campaign is part of the announcement of the new naming rights and features LIV Golf stars Sergio Garcia, Bryson DeChambeau, and Carlos Ortiz showing off their skills in a closest-to-the-hole challenge. The challenge underscores the importance of strategy, teamwork, and fun, which form a key part of LIV Golf’s identity.

Ma’aden CEO Bob Wilt stated that LIV Golf Virginia presented by Ma’aden is “more than a tournament.” The CEO described the new name as a “powerful expression of global collaboration and shared ambition,” as the company intends to drive innovation, inspire, and shape the future on and off the course through its partnership with LIV Golf.

The newly launched “Unearth Your Potential” campaign was inspired by LIV Golf’s impact and sustainability strategy.
