Washington is getting ready for its first big official visit weekend of the Summer. From Thursday to Saturday, there are expected to be 17 players from the class of 2025 on campus. The list includes a host of talent. One five-star and eight four-stars are slated to be on Montlake this weekend. Jedd Fisch made recruiting one of his top priorities when he took this program over just five months ago, and this weekend shows it. The pedigree of the players scheduled for this weekend makes it one of the most important weekends in recruiting in the early tenure of Fisch and staff.
Five-Star Cornerback Target
The fourth-rated cornerback in the class of 2025 will be on Montlake this weekend. Dijon Lee Jr. has Washington on his final list of five schools. His finalists also include Georgia, Texas A&M, Alabama, and Texas. The five-star recruit will announce his decision on June 28th, and his first visit among that group this summer is in Washington.
Lee’s tangibles are exactly what John Richardson and the Washington defense are after. He’s listed at 6’-4” and 190 pounds, fitting that new-age mold of the longer cornerback. One of Washington’s current corners Ephesians Prysock is a great example of the length at the position. The Mission Viejo High School cornerback had 55 tackles last season with two interceptions and 13 pass breakups. He also caught four touchdown passes at wide receiver as a junior with 18 receptions. His versatility and athleticism make him a top target nationally, and Washington has found itself with a big opportunity to host one of the nation’s top 25 recruits. Lee begins his visit on Friday, May 31st.
Lengthy Four-Star Defensive Players
At 6’-3”, Madden Faraimo is the number three player from California, and the second-highest-rated player making an official visit to Washington this weekend. He was a safety/linebacker hybrid in high school at JSerra High School where he had 101 tackles in 11 games last year as a junior. Back in February, he announced his final four schools that included Notre Dame, Ohio State, USC, and Oregon. Washington was not on that list, but that has a chance to change beginning Friday.
Staying in the same state, Matai Tagoa’i is slated to make his official visit to Washington on Saturday. The 6’-4” linebacker/safety hybrid announced his commitment to USC in April. But his May 31st official visit date to Washington remains on the calendar. Tagoa’i had 59 tackles and seven sacks as a junior last season at San Clemente High School in California. The four-star is a top ten safety in the class of 2025 and is the ninth-rated player from the state of California. Smith Orogbo is a 6′-4″ and 220-pound defensive lineman from Alief Hastings High School in Houston, Texas. He’s off a visit to SMU a couple of weeks ago and will be on campus at Washington beginning Friday. Orogbo is a top-15 player at defensive line nationally.
Daryus Dixson is the 11th-ranked player from California and gets to campus on Saturday. The Mater Dei High School cornerback had 56 tackles, 14 pass breakups, and three interceptions as a junior last season. He’s also making visits to Penn State and Tennessee in the first half of June. Another California defensive back on his visit this weekend is Dylan Robinson. He’s 6’-3” and 190 pounds and plays both ways. He had 69 tackles, four interceptions, and over 500 receiving yards last season at Bonita High School.
Four-Star Pass-Catchers
On offense, Washington is hosting a couple of prolific pass catchers on their official visits this weekend. Philip Bell and Chris Lawson are both California natives who are listed in the top 25 of their home state. Bell is teammates with Lee at Mission Viejo where he caught 56 passes for 644 yards and seven scores. The four-star visited Georgia earlier in May and is scheduled to visit Penn State, Ohio State, Tennessee, and USC later in June. Bell is listed at 6’-2” and 195 pounds.
Lawson is another top target in the national market of wide receivers and he gets here on Friday. He’s the 22nd-rated player in California out of Archbishop Riordan High School. He caught 68 passes for 11 touchdowns last season. In his career, Lawson has hauled in 167 passes for over 2,500 yards and 32 reception touchdowns. The four-star also plays safety on defense where he has 109 career tackles and five interceptions. Lawson visited Oregon and USC in April and May and has Oregon on his list for mid-June.
Kaleb Edwards is a four-star tight end out of Oak Ridge High School in California. He has been tabbed the eighth-ranked player at his position nationally. The 6’-6” and 240-pound tight end caught 44 passes for over 800 yards with seven touchdowns. Edwards gets to campus on Thursday after visiting Georgia, Alabama, and UCLA in the past two months. He’ll also be visiting Texas and Oregon in June.
Three-Stars on Campus
The highest-rated three-star on campus this weekend is quarterback Dash Beierly. He initially committed to Fisch at Arizona. But the quarterback quickly flipped his commitment to follow the coaching staff to Washington. We broke down Beierly’s skillset ahead of his senior season at Mater Dei High School. Jake Flores got an offer from Fisch and staff at Arizona back in June of 2022. After being re-offered by the same staff at Washington, Flores committed to the Huskies this past February after he was re-offered by the same staff. The 6’-6” and 285-pound offensive tackle attends JSerra Catholic in California. He’ll be on campus this weekend.
Also on the offensive line are John Mills and Demetri Manning. The two begin their visits on Friday and both play offensive tackle in high school. Mills is another California native from St. Ignatius in San Francisco. He’s listed at 6’-6” and 320 pounds. Manning is the only local kid making an official visit this weekend. He goes to Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Washington, and is 6’-7” and 340 pounds.
Cyrus Polu is the number four linebacker in the state of Utah. He has 170 career tackles and seven interceptions at Desert Hills High School. Chace Sims is a defensive lineman from SEC country. Sims is out of Randle High School in Richmond, Texas. He’s a top 75 player at his position nationally. Devin Hyde is a 6’-5” edge rusher from Menio-Atherton High School in California. He has 195 career tackles through three seasons with 11 sacks.
