Brock Vandagriff Enters the Transfer Portal
A Crowded Quarterback Portal
Vandagriff faces stiff competition in the transfer portal. There are several quarterbacks with multiple years of starting experience ahead of him. Ohio State’s Kyle McCord, Oklahoma’s Dillon Gabriel, and Oregon State’s DJ Uiagalelei headline the list of quarterbacks already in the transfer portal. Vandagriff battled Beck in the Spring to be Georgia’s starting quarterback. Despite his lack of in-game experience, Vandagriff has all the tools teams covet in their signal caller.
Vandagriff Scouting Report
Vandagriff was a five-start prospect coming out of Prince Avenue Christian School. Depending on the publication, he was seen as a top-five dual-threat quarterback. 247Sports scouting report on Vandagriff coming out of high school as a “pass-first quarterback with flashes of athleticism to make plays with his legs, whether buying time or scrambling for yardage.”
Georgia’s Quarterback Room
Even with Vandagriff gone, Georgia’s quarterback room remains deep. Gunnar Stockton is a former five-star inline to take Vandagriff’s role as back if Beck intends to return in 2024. Stockton will be joined by two highly-rated quarterbacks from the Class of 2024. Dylan Raiola, arguably the nation’s top quarterback in the class, and Ryan Puglisi enrolled in January and will join the quarterback competition once Spring ball starts.
