Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top commits in their class. All-American strong-side defensive end and Florida commit Tyreak Sapp has signed his NLI to the University of Florida.
This is a huge signing for Florida as Sapp is a highly touted defensive end that had offers from some of the top programs in the country. Mullen loves Sapp’s skillset and projects to make a big impact on the Florida Gators defense in the future.
Sapp is one of two strong-side defensive ends that’s expected to sign with the Florida Gators on Wednesday. Four-star Justus Boone will also be signing his NLI to the University of Florida.
Who is Tyreak Sapp?
Tyreak Sapp is a four-star strong-side defensive end out of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Florida commit is one of the top ranked defensive recruits in the country. Sapp was a tough get for the Gators as he was heavily recruited by some elite college football programs.
During his recruitment, Sapp received ten offers from some of the top college football programs in the country. Sapp had offers from schools like Alabama, Florida, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Texas.
On Rivals, Sapp is the 29th ranked recruit and the fifth ranked strong-side defensive end in the country. On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Sapp is the 96th ranked recruit and the eighth ranked strong-side defensive end in the country.
The Gators have added one of the top defensive recruits in the country and kept him from flipping for close to two years. Sapp is the nephew of former Miami Hurricane and NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp.
