Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top centers in the country. Three-star center and Florida commit Jake Slaughter has signed his NLI to the University of Florida.
This is a good signing for Florida as Slaughter is one of a top interior offensive lineman this class. Florida head coach Dan Mullen likes Slaughter’s skillset and projects to make a big impact on the Florida Gators offense in the future.
Slaughter is the only center in Florida’s class but has one other interior offensive lineman signing.
Who is Jake Slaughter?
Jake Slaughter is a three-star center out of Trinity Catholic High School in Ocala, Florida. Slaughter was a tough get for the Gators as he was previously committed to the Florida State Seminoles.
During his recruitment, Slaughter received 23 offers from some of the top college football programs in the country. Slaughter had offers from schools like Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss, Utah, Virginia and West Virginia.
On ESPN, Slaughter is the 96th ranked recruit in Florida and the tenth ranked center in the country. On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Slaughter is the 692nd ranked recruit and the tenth ranked center in the country.
The Gators have added a top ten center which is a position of need for Florida. At 6’4” 300 pounds, Slaughter has great size and will look to compete for early playing time once he arrives at Florida. Slaughter will enroll at the University of Florida after the spring semester.
