Three-star DT Christopher Thomas signs with Florida

Dan Mullen and his coaching staff have signed one of the top defensive commits in their class. The three-star defensive tackle and Florida commit Christopher Thomas has signed his NLI to play at the University of Florida.

This is a good signing for Florida as Thomas has a lot of potential at defensive tackle. Mullen likes his skillset and projects to make a nice impact on the Florida defense in the future.

Thomas is one of two defensive tackles that’s signing with the Florida Gators on Wednesday. Additionally, defensive tackle Desmond Watson is also signing with the Gators on Early Singing Day.

Who is Christopher Thomas?

Christopher Thomas is a three-star defensive tackle out of Dunbar High School in Ft. Myers, Florida. This Florida commit is one of the top-ranked defensive tackles in the country. Thomas was a key get for the Gators as he had offers from some top Division 1 programs.

Meanwhile, during his recruitment, Thomas received 19 offers from some of the top football programs in the country. Thomas had offers from schools like Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

On ESPN, Thomas is the 29th ranked defensive tackle in the country and the 66th ranked recruit in Florida. On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Thomas is the 440th ranked recruit and the 27th ranked defensive tackle in the country.

The Gators have added one of the top defensive tackles in the country and has risen in the recruiting rankings since committing to Florida. At 6’6” 290 pounds, Thomas has tremendous size and is probably one of the most underrated recruits in Florida’s class. Thomas will also be enrolling at Florida so he’ll be able to practice with the team in spring camp.
