The Florida Gators have signed one of their top commits in their class. Four-star safety and Florida commit Donovan McMillon has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a huge signing for Dan Mullen and his staff as McMillon is one of the top safeties in the country. Ultimately, Mullen loves McMillon’s skillset and projects to make a huge impact on the Florida Gators defense in the future. In addition, McMillon is one of three safeties that will be signing with the Florida Gators on Early Signing Day.
Who is Donovan McMillon?
Donovan McMillon is a four-star safety out of Peters Township High School in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. The Florida commit is one of the top-ranked safeties in the country. However, McMillon was a tough get for the Gators as he held offers over 50 offers from top Division 1 programs.
Meanwhile, during his recruitment, McMillon received 54 offers from some of the top college football programs in the country. McMillon had offers from schools like Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Stanford, and Virginia Tech.
On 247 Sports, McMillon is the 123rd ranked recruit and the sixth-ranked safety in the country. Meanwhile, on Rivals, McMillon is the 198th ranked recruit and the 15th ranked safety in the country.
The Gators have added an elite safety that’s one of the highest risers in the college football recruiting rankings. McMillon is a sure tackler and could grow into a linebacker at the next level. McMillon will also enroll early at Florida as well as get a chance to compete for playing time in the spring.
