All-American OLB Chief Borders

Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top defensive commits in their class. Four-star outside linebacker and All-American OLB Chief Borders signed his NLI to the University of Florida.

This is a great signing for Florida as Borders has a very high football IQ and is one of the top recruits in the country. Mullen likes the Borders skillset and projects to make a big impact on the Florida Gators defense in the future.

Borders is one of two linebackers that will be signing with the Florida Gators. Top JUCO recruit and outside linebacker Diwun Black will also be signing with the Gators on Early Signing Day.

All-American OLB Chief Borders

Chief Borders is a four-star outside linebacker out of Heard County High School in Carrollton, Georgia. The Florida commit is one of the top linebacker recruits in the country. Borders was a tough get for the Gators, as he was close to flipping to one of the top academic universities in the country.

During his recruitment, Borders received 25 offers from some of the top college football programs in the country. He had offers from schools like Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

On ESPN, Borders is the 122nd ranked recruit and the eighth ranked athlete in the country. On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Borders is the 307th ranked recruit and the 19th ranked outside linebacker in the country.

The Gators have added one of their top defensive commits and kept him from flipping to Stanford University. At 6’5” 240 pounds, Borders has tremendous size and could potentially play linebacker or EDGE rusher. Borders will enroll at the University of Florida after the spring semester.
