The Troy Trojans All-Decade Offense is highlighted by some of the best Trojans over the past ten seasons. Troy has had success in recent seasons, with multiple wins over Power Five teams. The decade was a solid one for Troy, as they made numerous bowl games. The Trojans also saw a few players get selected in the NFL Draft, while some players played in other leagues.
Troy Trojans All-Decade Offense
Quarterback- Brandon Silvers
Silvers played phenomenal for the Trojans during his four-year career. Eclipsing a total of 10,677 yards. He finished his Troy career with a 64.4 completion percentage. His passer rating was 135.8.
Silvers was partly responsible for the Trojans upsetting LSU in Baton Rouge in 2017. He also led the team to a Sun Belt championship that same season. The former Trojans signal-caller will go down as one of the best quarterbacks in program history.
Running Back- Jordan Chunn
Chunn was a prolific rusher out of the backfield. He broke the program record for career rushing touchdowns with 37. He was named to the CFN Freshman team in 2013 after a solid first year.
Chunn ranks second all-time in single-season rushing yards after he ran for 1,288 yards in 2016. The former tailback ranks ninth in program history in rushing yards with 2,346.
Troy Trojans All-Decade Offense: Outside Receivers
Wide Receiver – Damion Willis
Willis began his collegiate career at East Mississippi Community College but transferred to Troy with two years remaining. In his first season, Willis finished with 620 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 42 receptions.
He was an All-Sun Belt Conference honorable mention in 2016. During the New Orleans Bowl that season, Willis caught a game-record 11 passes for 136 yards and two scores.
He now plays for the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL, where he has become a valuable receiver.
Wide Receiver – Deondre Douglas
Douglas was a versatile threat on the outside during his Troy career. During his senior year in 2018, he led the Trojans in receiving with 437 yards on 44 receptions.
In 2016 and 2017, Douglas was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team for his pass-catching efforts. The 2017 season was a solid one for Douglas. He caught 48 passes for 628 yards.
Tight End – Clark Quisenberry
Quisenberry was a natural threat in the slot for the Trojans during his career. He played with the Trojans from 2013-2017 after sitting out 2016 with an injury.
The 2015 season for Quisenberry saw his peak. He caught 14 passes for 138 yards. Despite only two career touchdowns, he was a viable asset when the Trojans needed extra yardage.
Troy Trojans All-Decade Offensive Line
The Trojans have had successful offensive lines throughout the past 10 seasons. But, the 2016 offensive line unit was the best of the decade.
Led by All-Sun Belt First Team Antonio Garcia, the Trojans’ front held their own to protect Silvers. Garcia did not allow any sacks in over 900 snaps during his senior season. The Trojans led the country with fewest sacks allowed with just nine that season.
Against Clemson in 2016, the Trojans finished with six knockdown blocks and an overall grade of 90.
Garcia led the way for the Trojans’ strong front seven to earn the honor for being the best offensive line unit of the decade for the program.
Final Thoughts
The last ten seasons for Troy Trojans football have been successful, to say the least. Despite going 5-7 in 2019, the Trojans produced quality statistics with great talent on the field.
The next ten years for the Trojans cannot be predicted just yet. But if this decade is anything like the last, Trojans fans are in for a treat.
