Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top defensive targets. Four-star defensive end Princely Umanmielen has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a big signing for Florida as they got in late but was still able to get him to sign with the Gators. Florida head coach Dan Mullen likes Umanmielen’s skill set as he’s a great fit and can really make an impact on the Florida Gators defense in the future. Princely Umanmielen is the second defensive end signed with the Gators as four-star defensive end Antwaun Powell signed in December.
Who Is Princely Umanmielen?
Princely Umanmielen is a four-star defensive end out of Manor High School in Manor, Texas. The newest Florida signee is one of the top defensive ends in the country. He was a tough get for the Gators as many Texas schools recruited him hard. Umanmielen has always been a very highly ranked recruit in the 2020 recruiting cycle. Umanmielen signed with Florida over Auburn, Baylor, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, USC and Washington.
On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Umanmielen is the 241st ranked recruit and the ninth ranked strong-side defensive end in the country. On ESPN, Summerall is the 195th ranked recruit and the 20th ranked defensive end in the country. The Gators have added a really solid defensive end who could really make an impact in the future. Florida did a job of poaching him out of Texas as they signed three four-star recruits out of Texas. He was expected to sign with Baylor but decided not to go there once Matt Rhule left for the NFL.
