Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top offensive commits. Four-star quarterback and Florida commit Anthony Richardson has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a big signing for the Gators as Richardson is one of the top dual-threat QBs in the class. Mullen likes Richardson’s skill set. He can be a perfect fit and can make a huge impact on the Florida Gators offense in the future. This is the third quarterback Mullen has signed at Florida as Emory Jones and Jalon Jones. Richardson is the only quarterback that will sign with the Florida Gators 2019/2020 recruiting class. He will also be enrolling early at the University of Florida.
Who is Anthony Richardson?
Anthony Richardson is a four-star quarterback out of Eastside High School in Gainesville, Florida. The Florida quarterback commit is one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the country. He was a tough get for the Gators as he had decommitted from the Gators but ended back in the class. Richardson really took off in recruiting with his terrific summer. He signed with Florida over Georgia, Louisville Michigan, Penn State and Virginia Tech.
On the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Richardson is ranked 190th overall, He is the fifth ranked dual-threat quarterback in the country. On ESPN, Jones is the 186th ranked recruit and the seventh ranked dual-threat quarterback in the country. The Gators have added another top quarterback who could really make an impact in the future. Being an early enrollee, Richardson will get to Florida in January and learn the playbook quickly. Richardson will have plenty of time to develop with Kyle Trask and Emory Jones in front of him in the depth chart.
