Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff has signed one of their top-ranked defensive commits. Four-star defensive tackle Lamar Goods has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. Important to note, Mullen likes his skillset as he’s a great fit for the Gators defense. In fact, Goods is one of four defensive tackles to sign with the Gators with Jalen Lee, Gervon Dexter, and Johnnie Brown.
Who is Lamar Goods?
Goods is a four-star defensive tackle out of St. Thomas More High School in Oakdale, Connecticut. The newest Florida signee is one of the top defensive tackles in the country. Florida was able to flip him from the Kentucky Wildcats. Notably, Goods signed with Florida over Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan State, Syracuse, Tennessee, and Virginia.
First, on Rivals, Goods is the 218th ranked recruit and the 17th ranked defensive tackle in the country. Comparatively, on the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Goods is the 349th ranked recruit and the 34th ranked defensive tackle in the country. The Gators have added a top defensive lineman who could really make an impact in the future. Being an early enrollee, Goods will have the opportunity of getting a head start to his collegiate career and could compete for some playing time.
