Curtis Jacobs Signs with Penn State
Four-star outside linebacker, Curtis Jacobs, signs with Penn State on early signing day. The prospect from Owings Mills, Maryland signed in his high school gym at McDonogh School this afternoon. The outside linebacker is ranked 44 in the 2020 class according to 247Sports. He is ranked as the fifth outside linebacker in the class and the fourth best player in Maryland. Jacobs had 20 offers, but only took one official visit. Further, he visited Penn State six times before taking an official visit December 13th.
Jacobs Breakdown
Penn State is no stranger to attracting talented linebackers. Currently, All-American linebacker Micah Parsons shines on the national stage. Hopefully, Jacobs will do the same. The Owings Mills prospect runs a 4.73 forty-yard dash. He was awarded linebacker MVP at The Opening Finals in May. In addition, Jacobs is also an Under Armour All-American. Jacobs is a true athlete. He not only played linebacker for his school, but he also played wide receiver. Further, he shined as a punt returner as well. Maybe he will get the chance to return punts for the Nittany Lions, something Parsons has been dying to do. The ability to catch and react like a receiver will do well on the defensive side of the ball for the Nittany Lions.
Finally, the athletic ability of Jacobs coupled with the ability to learn from Parsons will likely serve him well. Penn State has Parsons and Jesse Luketa returning next season, giving Jacobs plenty of time to learn, grow, and adjust to mastering one position.
