The University of Michigan has added a signature running back to its signing day roster. Four-star running back recruit Blake Corum has signed with the Wolverines. The only running back to be signed for Michigan on signing day, Corum brings a complete game that is well-suited to Jim Harbaugh and Josh Gattis’ coaching styles.
Who is Blake Corum?
Blake Corum hails from the football town of Marshall, Virginia. Attending St. Frances Academy, Corum helped this program be 11-1 in 2019 and a top-five high school football team in the country. As a senior, Corum showcased both his rushing and receiving abilities, running for 1,266 yards and 19 touchdowns and catching 152 yards on eight receptions.
Corum’s performance in high school earned him four-star prospect honors from 247Sports and Rivals.com. The young running back is the 119th-rated player in the country and the 12th best tailback nationally.
Corum has very good ball control and has the ability to burst up the middle or off the edge. His 4.40 40-yard dash makes him a runner that can fit well in a Michigan offense that will look to establish a running game. If he can add more size and continue to maintain his elusiveness in tight running spaces, Corum will be a dynamic runner and receiver.
