Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top offensive targets. Four-star offensive guard Deyavie Hammond has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a big signing for Florida as they recruiting against some of the best teams in the country. Florida head coach Dan Mullen likes Hammond’s skillset as he’s a perfect fit and can really make a huge impact on the Florida Gators offense in the future. This is the fourth OG Mullen has signed in his first two recruiting classes at the University of Florida. Deyavie Hammond is the third offensive guard to sign with Florida alongside Ethan White and Kingsley Eguakun.
Who is Deyavie Hammond?
Deyavie Hammond is a four-star offensive guard out of Lakeland High School in Lakeland, Florida. The newest Florida commit is one of the top offensive lineman in the country. He was a tough get for the Gators as Hammond was originally committed to Alabama. Hammond really took off in recruiting since he played at IMG Academy. Hammond signed with Florida over Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Hammond is the 174th ranked recruit and the 12th ranked offensive guard in the country. On ESPN, Hammond is the 102nd ranked recruit and the second-ranked offensive guard in the country. The Gators have added a really solid offensive guard who could really make an impact in the future. Being an early signee, Hammond is currently locked in with the Florida Gators 2019 recruiting class. This is a big win for Mullen as he’s trying to make Lakeland High School a pipeline to Florida.
