Three-star OL Commit Griffin McDowell Signs with Florida

Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed a very solid offensive lineman in the class. Three-star offensive lineman and Florida commit Griffin McDowell has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a nice signing for the Gators as McDowell is an athletic offensive lineman who was quick to commit to the Gators. Florida offensive line coach John Hevesy added an offensive like McDowell who is familiar with as he was originally committed to Mississippi State. The Gators need help in the trenches since the offensive line struggled for the most part of last season. McDowell is currently the third offensive lineman signed to the Florida Gators with Noah Banks and Chris Bleich.

Who is Griffin McDowell?

Griffin McDowell is a three-star OL out of Lee County High School in Leesburg, Georgia. The Florida OT commit was the second Mississippi State commit to flip once Mullen was named Florida’s head coach. He is a big, physical offensive lineman. McDowell is a pretty light on his feet with a lot of size and athletic ability. He is a tough blocker which could also play as an interior lineman. McDowell flipped from MSU to the Florida Gators.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, McDowell is the 1,464th ranked recruit and the 22nd ranked center in the country. According to ESPN, McDowell is the 136th ranked recruit in Pennsylvania and the 100th ranked offensive guard in the country. The Gators have added an underrated offensive lineman who John Hevesy was really high once he recruited him. The Gators have still not decided where they are going to play McDowell. John Hevesy will likely straighten that out once McDowell has arrived on campus.
