ESPN 300 DE Andrew Chatfield signs with Florida

The Florida Gators have landed another top recruit from the South Florida area. Four-star defensive end Andrew Chatfield has officially signed with the Florida Gators. Dan Mullen and his staff have worked their magic in landing Chatfield. Chatfield is one of the most underrated recruits and will play a big role in the Florida Gators defense in years to come. In recent years, the University of Florida has done a great job of stealing some of South Florida’s top recruits away from the Miami Hurricanes and Florida just pulled it off with Chatfield signing with Florida. Chatfield is a perfect fit for Todd Grantham’s defense and should really thrive as a pass rusher.

Who is Andrew Chatfield?

Andrew Chatfield is a four-star defensive end out of American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida. The in-state was a tough get for the Gators, as it had seemed like Miami was going to land Chatfield. In a short amount of time, the Gators were able to sign him and pursued him to play with his other Heritage teammates Marco Wilson, James Houston IV and Tedarrell Slaton. During his recruiting process, Chatfield received 32 offers from some of the elite programs in the nation. He had offers from Florida, Florida State, LSU Miami, Ohio State and Oklahoma. On ESPN, Chatfield is the 159th ranked recruit and 17th ranked DE in the country. On the 247Sports Composite Rakings, Chatfield is the 213th ranked recruit and 13th ranked DE in the country.
