Stanley Garner 2018 Kentucky Recruiting Profile
Ever since coming to Lexington five years ago Mark Stoops has made recruiting the state of Florida a priority. Using his time spent at both Florida State and Miami the Kentucky head coach has created a pipeline from the Sunshine State to Lexington. This year is no exception as seven of the 20 commits are from Florida. The most highly touted is cornerback Stanley Garner.
The six foot three 180 pound Garner committed to Kentucky back on August 16th. He held offers from many big name schools including Auburn, Clemson, Louisville and Miami. Despite all those other offers Garner stayed with the Cats.
Out of Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale Garner ranks as a four star player by Rivals. He is rated as the 35th cornerback in the nation and 71st best player in Florida.
Out of all the decision I made in my life Committing to the University of Kentucky has been the best one so far. I can’t wait to be part of something special #BBN 🔵💯 signing day December 20th ✍🏿 pic.twitter.com/AT4oy1mRM9

Garner signed with the Cats on Wednesday at his high school in Fort Lauderdale. He plans to enroll in January to get a head start on learning the system. While the Cats have a lot of returning secondary players in 2018 the until failed to live up to expectations and were the worst in the SEC.
Therefore if Garner turn out to be as good as advertised there is no reason why he couldn’t push for playing time as a freshman.
