Four-star S Randy Russell Signs With Florida

Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed a top South Florida recruit. Four-star safety Randy Russell has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a big signing for the Gators as Russell is one of the biggest hitters in the Florida Gators class. The Gators are in need of safeties as they really struggled last season without Marcell Harris and Marcus Maye. Russell is one of two safeties that is signing with Florida Gators alongside with Amari Burney.

Who is Randy Russell?

Randy Russell is a four-star S out of Miami Carol City Senior High School in Miami Gardens, Florida. The Florida S commit is one of the top safeties in the country. He was a tough get for the Gators as Florida had to battle with Miami for the South Floridian. Russell really took off in recruiting when he had a terrific summer and senior season with the Carol City Chiefs. Russell chose Florida over Georgia, Miami and Michigan.

According to 247 Sports, Russell is the 195th ranked recruit and the 16th ranked safety in the country. According to ESPN, Russell is the 93rd ranked recruit in the state of Florida and the 28th ranked safety in the country. The Gators have added a really solid safety who could really make an impact in the upcoming season. Being an early enrollee, Russell will get to Florida in January and learn the playbook quickly. Russell could see some playing time as their nickel next season.
