Chance Poore 2018 Kentucky Recruiting Profile

When the 2018 season rolls around coach Mark Stoops will have to replace the school’s all-time leading scorer. Going into his final game at Kentucky on December 29th Austin Macginnis has 354 total points. Replacing him will be no easy task however the coaching staff thinks they have the player in Chance Poore.

Chance Poore 2018 Kentucky Recruiting Profile

The 6’3″, 200-pound Poore comes to Kentucky from Westside High School in Anderson, South Carolina. He picked up an offer from special teams coach Dean Hood back in May and committed in June. Poore also attracted interest from home state school South Carolina.

Special teams players aren’t always ranked the same way by scouting services as the other positions. However, according to one site, ProKicker.Com, Poore ranks as the best kicker in the nation in the 2018 class. The fact that he was the only kicker Kentucky offered says a great deal about his ability.

In addition to being a good kicker Poore is also an excellent punter. Check out this stat below from the pro kickers ranking of punters.

What is most notable on that list is the number one punter Max Duffy has also committed to play at Kentucky. As it stands right now the Wildcats have the top two incoming specialists in the 2018 class.

Members of the Big Blue Nation can check out Poore’s highlight reel at the link below.

With no other scholarship kickers on the roster it appears as if the kicking duties are there for Poore from day one.

Building On Momentum

Kentucky took some big steps in 2017. Can Stoops keep the momentum going in 2018 in an increasingly competitive SEC East? With margins as close as they are in the SEC, special teams can make the difference in almost each and every game played. The addition of both of these players, and Poore especially, could help Kentucky keep their forward momentum.
