Australian Open Day 5: Match Times for Djokovic, Osaka, Sinner Revealed

Day 5 of the Australian Open brings another thrilling slate of matches, featuring former World No.1s and a host of Slam champions.

A total of 32 singles matches are scheduled for Thursday. Rod Laver Arena will host both the current best hard-court player in the world, Jannik Sinner, and the man from whom the Italian took the throne, Novak Djokovic. Fan favorites such as Naomi Osaka, Iga Swiatek, and top-ranked American men and women will also be in action. As always, we here at LWOT will bring you all the key details on when and where to watch.

Australian Open Day 5 Match Times

Rod Laver Arena Schedule

Day 5 on Rod Laver Arena begins with an all-American clash between doubles partners, as Jessica Pegula takes on McCartney Kessler. That sets the stage nicely for Novak Djokovic’s second-round match, with the Serbian icon handed a rare day-session appearance in Melbourne.

The night session picks up exactly where the day session leaves off, as another former world No.1 and multi-time Australian Open champion, Jannik Sinner, takes to the court to continue his quest for a historic three-peat. The evening will conclude with Elena Rybakina in action.

Play gets underway at 11:30 AM local time in Melbourne (7:30 PM Wednesday EST). The second match of the day session is scheduled for no earlier than 1:30 PM local time (9:30 PM Wednesday EST). The night session begins at 7:00 PM local time (3:00 AM Thursday EST).

Margaret Court Arena Schedule

An all-Italian affair between two Lorenzos kicks off proceedings on Margaret Court Arena on Day 5. That will be followed by world No.4 Amanda Anisimova, who faces doubles legend Katerina Siniakova.

The night session opens with Naomi Osaka returning to a show court at Melbourne Park, once again showcasing her standout outfit presentation. The day will then conclude with what promises to be a compelling clash between Casper Ruud and Jaume Munar–a rematch of their five-set classic here last year.

Margaret Court Arena follows the same session time slots as Rod Laver Arena, with play beginning at 11:30 AM local time (7:30 PM Wednesday EST) for the day session and resuming at 7:00 PM local time (3:00 AM Thursday EST) for the night session.

About Zain Mustafa

Being brought up in a sports-watching home, some of the spheres flying across the TV screen stuck with me more than others, the yellow fuzzy one probably the most. A lefty Mallorcan got me into it, a righty Murcian has kept me in it after him, but to be honest, once I was in, I never felt like leaving anyway.
