Australian Open Day 4: Match Times for Alcaraz, Gauff and Sabalenka Revealed

We are into the second round at the Australian Open as the competition slowly but steadily intensifies–and so do the stakes.

Both World No.1s return to action on Day 4 of the “happy Slam,” with Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka set to headline proceedings on Rod Laver Arena. But that is far from all. Coco Gauff and Alexander Zverev, the two No.3 seeds, are also back on court, alongside a host of other big names and local favourites across the show courts. Here is your complete Australian Open Day 4 guide.

Australian Open Day 4 Match Times

Rod Laver Arena Schedule

The day session on Rod Laver Arena will be packed with star power, featuring both world No.1s on court. Aryna Sabalenka will kick things off, while Carlos Alcaraz will conclude the session in a clash against Yannick Hanfmann.

The night session is built around local interest. First, Australia’s top-ranked men’s player, Alex de Minaur, takes on exciting youngster Hamad Medjedovic. The final match of Day 4 on Rod Laver Arena will see another promising young talent, Iva Jovic, face Australian Priscilla Hon.

Session timings for Rod Laver Arena are as follows:

  • Play begins at 11:30 AM local time in Melbourne (7:30 PM Monday EST), with the second match not scheduled to start before 2:00 PM local time (10:00 PM Monday EST).
  • The evening session begins at 7:00 PM local time (3:00 AM Tuesday EST).

Margaret Court Arena Schedule

The way the Day 4 schedule is shaped, you could make a legitimate case that Margaret Court Arena offers even more entertainment than Rod Laver Arena. The day session begins with Andrey Rublev in action, followed by crowd favorite and top-ranked American player in the world, Coco Gauff.

The night session opens with a blockbuster clash between Maria Sakkari and Mirra Andreeva, while the final match of the day on this court sees Frances Tiafoe back in action as he looks to book another third-round berth in Melbourne.

Margaret Court Arena follows the same session structure as Rod Laver Arena, with play beginning at 11:30 AM local time for the day session and resuming at 7:00 PM local time for the night session.

The only difference is that the second match of the day session does not start before 1:00 PM local time, instead of 2:00 PM as on Rod Laver Arena.

Full Day 4 Schedule and Viewing Options

While the two main show courts undoubtedly feature the biggest names, the action is far from limited to them. A host of other exciting matches will also take place on Day 4 as the second round gets underway, including:

  • Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev are both in action on the John Cain Arena
  • Emma Raducanu vs Anastasia Potapova
  • Reilly Opelka vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina
  • Top 10 players, such as Alexander Bublik and Jasmine Paolini, are also in action

A total of 32 matches will be played on Day 4 of the Australian Open. The complete schedule is available on the tournament’s official website, while full broadcasting details can be found in our tournament viewing guide. Which match are you most looking forward to on Day 4?

About Zain Mustafa

Being brought up in a sports-watching home, some of the spheres flying across the TV screen stuck with me more than others, the yellow fuzzy one probably the most. A lefty Mallorcan got me into it, a righty Murcian has kept me in it after him, but to be honest, once I was in, I never felt like leaving anyway.
