United Cup Semifinal Predictions Including Coco Gauff vs Iga Swiatek

The United Cup semifinals include a repeat of last year’s final between Team U.S.A. and Team Poland. That means there will be another blockbuster battle between French Open champion Coco Gauff and world No. 2 Iga Swiatek, and a men’s singles contest between last year’s Wimbledon semifinalist Taylor Fritz and Hubert Hurkacz. A deciding mixed doubles match will also be played.

United Cup Semifinal Predictions

Taylor Fritz vs Hubert Hurkacz

Head-to-head: Fritz 4-2 Hurkacz

Fritz defeated Hurkacz during Team U.S.A.’s 2023 and 2025 title runs, including a thrilling deciding set tiebreak triumph last year. However, he has struggled in the ongoing iteration, scraping past Jaume Munar and losing to Sebastian Baez and Stefanos Tsitsipas. An ongoing knee problem has partially caused that, but he seems determined not to miss any United Cup matches.

Hurkacz, who had injury problems last year, has played better, even in his close quarterfinal defeat to Alex de Minaur. Fritz will probably welcome this matchup since the Pole’s average return should ensure many free points on his serve and fewer lengthy rallies for his knee to withstand. Nonetheless, the world No. 9’s injury and level so far mean Hurkacz is favored to triumph.
Prediction: Hurkacz in 2

Coco Gauff vs Iga Swiatek

Head-to-head: Swiatek 11-4 Gauff

The head-to-head is less worrying for Gauff than it initially seems. After losing 11 of her first 12 matches, she defeated Swiatek in their last three meetings. That included a superb performance in last year’s United Cup final. The world No. 4’s greater resilience in forehand-to-forehand exchanges made the most significant difference in those victories.

Despite that, Swiatek is narrowly favored to win this time. Gauff’s level in singles this year has been mixed, including a very surprising loss to Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. The six-time Grand Slam champion’s performances have been steadier, and she seems to be in a good place. It could go either way, but I think Gauff will make a few too many costly unforced errors.
Prediction: Swiatek in 3

Coco Gauff/Christian Harrison vs Iga Swiatek/Hubert Hurkacz

This match will decide the tie if one of the previous predictions are incorrect. Swiatek and Hurkacz have functioned well as a doubles team before, but they have not played together yet this year. By contrast, Gauff and Harrison have won three times as a pair. United Cup doubles matchups are often decided by very fine margins. Despite Swiatek and Hurkacz’s achievements being much greater than Harrison’s, the 31-year-old’s momentum with Gauff is backed to make the difference.
Prediction: Gauff/Harrison in 10-point tiebreak
