The final match of the 2025 ATP season is finally upon us, and fittingly it is World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz taking on World No. 2 Jannik Sinner to decide the Year-End Championships winner.
The two standout players of the post–Big 3 era meet yet again in the final of another major tournament at the end of a season in which they have distanced themselves considerably from the rest of the field, once again splitting all four Majors just like in 2024. While Alcaraz has already secured the year-end No. 1 ranking, this match remains as big as it gets on the ATP Tour for these two rivals. Here is your complete match guide.
Carlos Alcaraz vs Jannik Sinner Match Guide
Head-to-Head
This will be the 16th ATP tour meeting between the two champions, with Alcaraz holding a 10–5 advantage so far, including a stretch of having won seven of their last eight clashes.
It will be just their second meeting on an indoor hard court. Their first came in 2021 at the Rolex Paris Masters, which the Spaniard won in two razor-thin sets.
Path to the Final
Alcaraz has raised his level with each match this week, delivering his best performance in the semifinals against Felix Auger-Aliassime. He has dropped only one set en route to the final, guaranteeing his best-ever performance at the Year-End Championships.
Sinner has been flawless in reaching the final, remarkably making his third consecutive Nitto ATP Finals championship match. Not only has the Italian not dropped a set, he has yet to have his serve broken, saving all 12 break points he has faced.
Date and Time
The Nitto ATP Finals championship match will take place on Sunday, 16 November.
It will begin after the doubles final, starting not before 6:00 PM local time (12:00 PM in New York, 5:00 PM in London).

Match Preview
While hard courts are undoubtedly Sinner’s preferred surface, Alcaraz has won their last four meetings on the cement, though none of those were indoors, a setting in which Sinner is currently riding a 30-match winning streak (read our prediction).
The Italian has served brilliantly all week, keeping himself out of trouble on serve. But if there is one player capable of disrupting him in the serve-return dynamic, which will likely decide the match, it is Alcaraz, whose movement and shot-making arsenal can extend points better than anyone else on tour.
On a slick indoor surface, Sinner may hold a slight edge, but this rivalry has repeatedly shown us to expect the unexpected. And how lucky are we, as tennis fans, to get one final showdown between them in a season defined so completely by their mutual dominance.
