ATP Toronto Best Bets Including Zverev vs Cerundolo

ATP Masters 1000 Toronto 1/8-Finals

Popyrin – Rune: 03.08.2025 01:00 CEST
H2H: 0-1

Alexei Popyrin has lost four of his last five matches. Last week in Washington, the Australian lost to Wu in the opening round in three tight sets. This week in Toronto, Popyrin defeated Arseneault in the opening round in straight sets. He served great, offering and saving only one breakpoint. In the second round, the Australian upset Medvedev in three tight sets. After losing the opening set 5-7, Popyrin handled the pressure brilliantly, saving all six breakpoints in the second and third sets.

Holger Rune has lost three of his last five matches. His last match before the ATP Toronto was at Wimbledon, where he lost against Jarry in five tight sets. This week in Toronto, Rune defeated Mpetshi Perricard in straight sets in the opening round. He was great under pressure, not offering any breakpoints. In the second round, the Dane dominated against Muller, winning in straight sets in just over an hour. Once again, Rune offered no breakpoints.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Rune is the favourite in this matchup, and we agree. He looks unstoppable this week in Toronto. On the other hand, Popyrin had a physically tough second-round match against Medvedev. Rune won the only head-to-head meeting. We believe he has all the weapons to win comfortably tonight.

That being said, Rune covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Zverev – Cerundolo: 03.08.2025 02:30 CEST
H2H: 0-3

Alexander Zverev has won three of his last five matches. His last match before the ATP Toronto was at Wimbledon, where Rinderknech upset him in the opening round. This week in Toronto, Zverev defeated Walton in the opening round in straight sets. Besides losing his serve once, the German served well throughout the match. In the second round, Zverev had to dig deep to get the win over Arnaldi. After losing the opening set 6-7, he turned the match around, winning in three tight sets after playing for almost three hours.

Francisco Cerundolo has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Umag, Cerundolo played on clay, where he lost to Taberner in three tight sets in the opening round. This week in Toronto, the Argentine defeated Munar in three tight sets after playing for over three hours. In the second round, Cerundolo defeated his compatriot, Etcheverry, in straight sets. He was great under pressure, saving eight out of nine breakpoints.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Zverev is the favourite in this matchup, but we disagree. Cerundolo played well in the second round against Etcheverry. It seems like Zverev has no answer for Cerundolo’s playing style. The Argentine leads 3-0 in head-to-head meetings and has won every time as an underdog. We expect him to deliver his best tennis tonight and keep this match tight.

That being said, Cerundolo covering the games handicap is a value bet.
