Wimbledon Day 2 Women’s Predictions Including Barbora Krejcikova vs Alexandra Eala

Defending Wimbledon Champion Barbora Krejcikova will take on Alexandra Eala on day 2 of the 2025 edition of the tournament, it’s one of Tuesday’s most anticipated matches as our team has predictions for every round 1 match at SW 19.

Barbora Krejcikova vs Alexandra Eala

Manuel: Eala is fresh off a heartbreaking final defeat and she is likely to be worn out both physically and mentally. Facing a very high level opponent in Krejcikova certainly won’t help her at all in that regard here. Krejcikova in 2

Damian: Nobody expected Krejcikova to claim the title last year and a repeat here would be just as unexpected. The defending champion has been struggling with her fitness once again and she’s facing an opponent who is tricky to face on grass. But the Czech plays so intelligently and probably knows how to avoid the traps in the Eala matchup. Krejcikova in 3

Yesh: Alexandra Eala is this year’s breakout star. Is it enough to upset the defending champion? I’ll say no, but don’t be stunned if there’s an upset here. Krejcikova in 3

Belinda Bencic vs Alycia Parks

Manuel: Both players are going through a rough streak at the moment, but Bencic is generally the more solid and consistent player and should win a hard fought contest here, even if Parks is certainly in with a chance. Bencic in 3

Damian: Bencic has only played one match since the retirement in Madrid, getting blown off the court by Alexandrova in Bad Homburg. Parks will be trying to take her down in similar fashion, but is rarely consistent enough to beat somebody of this quality. Decent chance for the Swiss, unless Parks has a crazy day at the office. Yesh: Belinda Bencic’s return from maternity leave is going pretty solidly. She likes the grass and should get a good challenge from Alycia Parks. Bencic in 3

Heather Watson vs Clara Tauson

Manuel: On paper, Tauson should have a clear edge here, she is the far higher ranked player, showing her superior quality and consistency. Under normal circumstances, she should pull through here. Tauson in 2

Damian: All that grass-court experience of Watson can still be a factor on grass as we saw at Queen’s Club recently. But Tauson also has a good game for these conditions and should be dominating the rallies here. It would take a special performance from the veteran to stop her and she needs to apply her game perfectly to have a shot. Tauson in 2

Yesh: Heather Watson’s time as the next great British hope feels long past. Meanwhile, Clara Tauson has so much potential, but isn’t quite there yet. Tauson in 3

Liudmila Samsonova vs Diane Parry Joint

Manuel: Joint is fresh off an Eastbourne title, so she will certainly be feeling quite confident here. If she can hold up physically, she certainly has a chance here but Samsonova should still pull through. Samsonova in 3

Damian: Last time Joint picked up a WTA Tour title just before a Slam, she disappointed in the opening round of the main event. Feels like something similar might happen here, especially with how emotional that Eastbourne final got. Samsonova’s a force on grass with how flat she plays, it won’t be easy to keep the run going. Yesh: Maya Joint is a rising star with unlimited potential. She gets a good challenge in this one to show just how far she has progressed. Joint in 2
