Barbora Krejcikova in action ahead of the WTA Eastbourne International.

WTA Eastbourne Day 3 Predictions Including Barbora Krejcikova vs Jodie Burrage

It promises to be another fascinating day of WTA Eastbourne action. Reigning Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, and Lulu Sun will all take to the court. We here at LWOT predict the eight matches in two separate articles. Emma Raducanu vs Maya Joint is among the matchups in the other piece.

WTA Eastbourne Day 3 Predictions

Rebecca Sramkova vs Varvara Gracheva

Head-to-head: First meeting

Gracheva has won three tight matches since the qualifying round. Her Round of 32 win against Camila Osorio was a grueling battle against a gritty opponent. Sramkova comfortably defeated Jaqueline Cristian, which was impressive just a few days after her semifinal run in Norringham a few weeks ago. Predicting Gracheva’s matches is challenging because of her inconsistency. Her best level would undoubtedly challenge Sramkova, but I do not trust the Frenchwoman enough to find it.
Prediction: Sramkova in 3

Lulu Sun vs Anna Blinkova

Head-to-head: First meeting

Last year’s Wimbledon quarterfinalist Sun knocked out the No. 1 seed and defending champion Daria Kasatkina in the opening round. Blinkova defeated Marie Bouzkova, who has also been a Wimbledon quarterfinalist. The Russian hopes to break her consistent trend in 2025 of winning her opening match at a tournament before being knocked out in the next round. But Sun’s best tennis is slightly better than Blinkova’s on grass. The New Zealander would be tough to stop if her level is similar to the previous round.
Prediction: Sun in 3

Dayana Yastremska vs Francesca Jones

Head-to-head: Yastremska 1-0 Jones

Yastremska benefited from Magda Linette’s retirement in the opening round. The Ukrainian was probably grateful since she had lost the Nottingham Open final just two days previously. Jones, whose game does not naturally suit grass, beat Greet Minnen in the opening round. The Briton will try to frustrate her opponent’s powerful style with gritty defense. That does not alter the reality that Yastremska’s ceiling on grass is higher than Jones’.
Prediction: Yastremska in 2

Barbora Krejcikova vs Jodie Burrage

Head-to-head: First meeting

Krejcikova battled through 7-5 in the deciding set against Harriet Dart. Although every win is vital, her level was not high in a scrappy encounter. Burrage undoubtedly has a realistic chance of causing an upset. The Briton’s game is a good fit for grass, and she might play Krejcikova at a good time. But Burrage is also inconsistent, and someone of Krejcikova’s class probably will not produce two consecutive poor performances (by her standards).
Prediction: Krejcikova in 3
