WTA Stuttgart Semifinal Predictions Including Aryna Sabalenka vs Jasmine Paolini

Semifinals day at the WTA Stuttgart Open features two exciting matchups between in-form contenders on indoor clay. As ever, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for both semifinals on what promises to be an entertaining day of tennis – as well as the final in Rouen – but who will secure a place in the final?

WTA Stuttgart Semifinal Predictions

Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Jelena Ostapenko

Head-to-head: Alexandrova 5-5 Ostapenko

Ekaterina Alexandrova has been in strong form this week in Stuttgart, notching impressive wins over Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva to reach the semifinals. Her aggressive baseline game and flat groundstrokes have translated well to the faster indoor clay courts, and she’s built a solid 6–1 record on the surface this season. Confidence is clearly high, and her ability to control points early could prove key in this matchup.

Jelena Ostapenko, though, is riding even greater momentum after stunning world No. 2 Iga Swiatek, a result that underlines her comfort and confidence on clay. While the head-to-head between Ostapenko and Alexandrova stands at an even 5–5, the Latvian has won their last three meetings, suggesting she’s found a formula that works. A former French Open champion, Ostapenko’s explosive game and proven clay-court credentials give her the slight edge in this semifinal clash. Expect plenty of pace and shot-making from both ends, but Ostapenko’s recent dominance in this rivalry could tilt things in her favour.

Prediction: Ostapenko in 2

Aryna Sabalenka vs Jasmine Paolini

Head-to-head: Sabalenka 4-2 Paolini

Aryna Sabalenka enters the Stuttgart semifinal as the clear favourite, having powered through her matches with trademark aggression and precision. The indoor clay suits her explosive game, and she’s yet to drop a set this week. While Paolini’s speed, variety, and improved consistency give her tools to counter Sabalenka’s power, she’ll need to absorb a lot of pressure from the baseline to stay competitive. The Belarusian’s experience and firepower gives her the clear edge. Expect a spirited effort from Paolini, but Sabalenka’s form and confidence should carry her into the final.

Prediction: Sabalenka in 2
