WTA Stuttgart Day 2 Predictions Including Jasmine Paolini vs Eva Lys

Several high-profile players in the women’s game are in WTA Stuttgart on Day 2. Jasmine Paolini and Donna Vekic are among those scheduled to be taken to court. As always, we here at LWOT predict all the contests in our articles, including Emma Navarro vs Beatriz Haddad Maia. Which players do you think will win?

WTA Stuttgart Day 2 Predictions

Laura Siegemund vs Jule Niemeier

Head-to-head: First meeting

Neither woman has won a WTA main draw match since the Australian Open in January, making this a golden opportunity for both players. There is a clash of styles between the crafty Siegemund and the more aggressive Niemeier. This could go either way, but Siegemund is narrowly favored to triumph. Her use of the slice and ability to change the pace is not the best matchup for Niemeier.

Prediction: Siegemund in 3

Donna Vekic vs Jana Fett

Head-to-head: First meeting

Aside from a great win against Emma Navarro and coming close to beating Madison Keys in Indian Wells, Vekic has struggled for form since the Australian Open. However, this might be her ideal first clay court match of 2025. Although Fett fought through qualifying, those were just her second and third completed matches since the Australian Open. She is probably not sharp enough right now to have a chance of causing an upset against her compatriot.

Prediction: Vekic in 2

Jasmine Paolini vs Eva Lys

Head-to-head: Paolini 1-0 Lys

Paolini defeated Lys in straight sets at the Dubai Championships less than two months ago. In truth, the Italian won comfortably despite not being near her best. Lys is a gritty opponent who will receive crowd support on home soil in Stuttgart, but she does not possess the firepower to disrupt Paolini. That means the German has to win many points by repeatedly defending successfully, which does not seem like a sustainable path to victory. Paolini needs to be well below her best to make an upset possible.

Prediction: Paolini in 2
