ATP Rotterdam Day 3 Predictions Including Daniil Medvedev vs Mattia Bellucci

More great matches are scheduled for the third day of the ATP ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam. 2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev will play for a place in the quarterfinal. The former world No. 1’s match and two round-of-32 clashes are predicted in this article. We at LWOT predict the other matches in a separate article, including Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Andrea Vavassori.

 ATP Rotterdam Day 3 Predictions

Arthur Fils vs Constant Lestienne

Head-to-head: Lestienne 1-0 Fils

Lestienne won the only previous meeting with Fils, but that was at a Challenger Tour event in 2022. Fils is a significantly improved player since that defeat. There is no pressure on Lestienne, who seems to be nearing the end of his career, in this matchup. The 32-year-old proved that his unconventional style can still get results in a victory against Borna Coric in Montpellier last week. However, Fils is a more difficult challenge and one he is unlikely to overcome.
Prediction: Fils in 2

Jan-Lennard Struff vs Fabian Marozsan

Head-to-head: Struff 2-1 Marozsan

Struff has won close matches against Marozsan in their last two meetings. The Hungarian showed considerable improvement in the last 12 months during a superb Australian Open victory against Frances Tiafoe last month. Yet, Struff is backed to win for a third consecutive time against Marozsan. The German’s game is slightly better suited to the conditions in Rotterdam, and his serve might pull him over the line.
Prediction: Struff in 3

Daniil Medvedev vs Mattia Bellucci

Head-to-head: First meeting

Medvedev seems to be in a volatile place right now. He split with Gilles Simon before the Rotterdam Open and has had angry outbursts in every match so far this season. Bellucci might sense an opportunity, especially after Learner Tien’s stunning victory against Medvedev at the Australian Open. It is tough to go against Medvedev at a tournament he has won in the past, and he might find his best in Rotterdam. However, anything could happen in the six-time Grand Slam finalist’s matches right now.
Prediction: Medvedev in 2
