Fabio Fognini in action. The Italian won his seventh Challenger title last week.

Montemar Challenger semifinals

Martin Tiffon – Neumayer: 23.11.2024 12:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Pol Martin Tiffon has won eight straight matches. Last week in Valencia, Pol Martin played an ITF tournament on clay, where he won the title without dropping a set. Pol Martin continued his form in Montemar by winning his opening round against Damas in straight sets. After that, in the 1/8-Finals, Tiffon also defeated Sanchez Jover in straight sets. He lost his serve only once in the match, but other than that, Tiffon played well. Today, in the quarterfinals, Pol Martin won against Shelbayh in straight sets. He wants to win the title this week to get closer to the top 200 in the rankings.

Lukas Neumayer has won four of his last five matches. Before the challenger tournament in Montemar, Lukas played in an ITF tournament in Italy, where he was stopped in the semifinals. Lukas won his opening match against Lopez Montagud in straight sets in Montemar. The Austrian won the most important points of the match and deservedly won. In the 1/8-Finals, Lukas defeated Spanish veteran Ramos-Vinolas in straight sets. Today, in the quarterfinals, Neumayer won against Hardt in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Pol Martin Tiffon is currently in excellent form, winning 16 sets in a row. We believe he will be a better player on the court tomorrow with the help of the home crowd.

That being said, Tiffon winning is a value bet.

Fognini – Montes-De La Torre: 23.11.2024 11:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Fabio Fognini has won three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Belgrade, Fognini lost his opening match against Safiullin in straight sets. Fabio never had any success on the indoor hard courts, so it was wise of him to get back to the clay courts. Here in Montemar, Fabio had a tough first-round match against Rincon. Fognini ended up winning the match in three tight sets. In the second round, Fabio easily defeated Gulin in straight sets. Today, in the quarterfinals, Fabio again played well from the start and defeated Yevseyev in straight sets. He is the first seed and the biggest favorite to win the title.

Inaki Montes-De La Torre has won 10 straight matches. In his last tournament before the Montemar Challenger, Inaki won the ITF title in Turkey on a hard court. In Montemar, Inaki successfully qualified for the main draw tournament. In his opening main-draw round, Montes-De La Torre defeated Rodriguez Taverna in straight sets. After that, in the 1/8-finals, Inaki won against Coppejans in three tight sets. Today, in the quarterfinals, Inaki dominated against Budkov Kjaer, winning in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Fognini is the favorite in this matchup, and we agree. Fabio is a way better player than Inaki, even considering his age. We believe that his experience will prevail and that he will dominate this match from the start until the end.

That being said, Fognini winning in straight sets is a value bet.
