Nitto ATP Finals Turin Group B

Alcaraz – Ruud: 11.11.2024
H2H: 4-2

Carlos Alcaraz has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Carlos reached the 1/8-Finals, where he was upset by Ugo Humbert in three tight sets. Carlos once again failed in the indoor tournament. Alcaraz has been one of the best players in the world for the last couple of seasons. However, he is struggling in fast indoor conditions such as this one. The Spaniard is yet to win a title on the indoor hard courts, and holds a career winning 24-11 record. So far this season, Alcaraz has participated in only one indoor tournament, which was in Paris, last week. In 2022, Carlos got injured after the US Open, and skipped the ATP Finals tournament. However, last year, Alcaraz managed to get into the semifinals, where he was stopped by Novak Djokovic in straight sets. So far this season, Alcaraz has already won two Grand Slam titles. Earlier this season, Carlos won the French Open title, winning against Alexander Zverev in the final, after spending almost five hours on the court. Other than that, Alcaraz completely dominated throughout the whole clay court season. However, his biggest loss was in the Olympic Games, where he was stopped by Novak Djokovic in the final. One of his biggest matches was at Wimbledon, where he defended his Wimbledon title, winning against Djokovic in the final, in straight sets. His last big title was in Beijing, where he won in the final against Sinner in three tight sets.

Casper Ruud has lost four of his last five matches. His last win was around a month ago, when he defeated Sonego in the 1/8-Finals of the ATP 250 Stockholm. Last week in Metz, Casper lost his opening match against Bonzi in straight sets. Casper also never had any success on the fast indoor courts such as this one. He loves to play on the slower clay courts, where he had his biggest results as well. Ruud started the season very well, playing back-to-back finals in Los Cabos and Acapulco. Other than that, Casper had a disappointing hard-court season. Since the US Open, Casper has just won two of his last ten matches. Ruud needed some solid results recently to qualify for the ATP Finals. However, he crumbled under pressure, and could not deliver his best tennis. Ruud still managed to qualify for the ATP Finals, because several players ranked below him also crumbled under pressure. With Novak Djokovic withdrawing from the tournament, Casper secured himself a spot in the ATP Finals. Even though Ruud never had any big results on the indoor courts, he had his biggest indoor hard court results in the ATP Finals. In his debut campaign in 2021, Ruud reached the semifinals, and just a year later, Ruud reached the final, when he was stopped by Djokovic.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Alcaraz is the big favorite in this matchup. Both players have struggled on this surface throughout their careers. Ruud already had solid results in the ATP Finals, so we believe that he will have his chance against Alcaraz tomorrow. We believe that the Norwegian will keep this match tight.

That being said, Ruud covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Casper Ruud +5.5 games handicap @1.73 @bet365
