Five entertaining second-round matches are scheduled on day four at the ATP Metz event – the Moselle Open. Two of the top three seeds are in action as player look to end their season on a high. As always, we here at LWOT will offer our predictions for every match on the slate for day four. But who will advance to the quarterfinals?
ATP Metz Day 4 Predictions
Quentin Halys vs Pierre-Hugues Herbert
Head-to-head: Herbert 1-0 Halys
A fight between two French players will excite the audience while also ensuring that one of them will reach the Moselle Open quarterfinals. Quentin Halys has been untouchable in his three matches including the qualifiers. Halys has been brilliant behind his serve and lost serve on just one occasion. Herbert plays most of his matches at the Challenger Tour and won just his first match on the ATP Tour this year in the first round. Herbert is last year’s semifinalist and has a good record on indoor hard courts. However, Herbert is a lucky loser and Halys is in better form than him.

Bu Yunchaokete vs Jesper de Jong
Head-to-head: first meeting
Bu Yunchaokete continues to amaze, as he defeated a strong player like Adrian Mannarino in the first round. The Chinese played some excellent aggressive tennis, clearly frustrating Mannarino. One more win will help him to reach a new career high next week and that looks very doable against Jesper de Jong, who won just his second tour-level match of this season and prefers to play on clay.

Hugo Gaston vs Zizou Bergs
Head-to-head: first meeting
Both players got their first win at the Moselle Open, and they now have a chance to advance to the quarterfinals. Zizou Bergs had a much more comfortable win, though, and didn’t get broken in his match. Gaston, on the other hand, was broken four times and was involved in a tight match. Gaston is always pumped up when playing on home soil, but this surface isn’t suited for his game, and Bergs should win if he can play at a good level.

Casper Ruud vs Benjamin Bonzi
Head-to-head: first meeting
Casper Ruud will be relieved that he has secured his place at the ATP Finals and can play much more freely this week. He has been in awful form, and could use a couple of wins to boost his confidence heading into Turin. This is Ruud’s debut at the Moselle Open and he has a tough match. Benjamin Bonzi has been in excellent form on the Challenger Tour and has continued that momentum into this week. He defeated Roberto Bautista Agut convincingly and, will back his chances against Ruud’s current level.

Grigor Dimitrov vs Cameron Norrie
Head-to-head: Norrie 2-1 Dimitrov
Grigor Dimitrov just missed out on a return to the ATP Finals, but he should be pleased with his performance this year. Dimitrov’s win percentage and number of matches won are his highest since 2017 – when he won the ATP Finals. The Bulgarian is playing the ATP Metz event for the first time in 13 years and will look to get off to a winning start. Cameron Norrie fought valiantly as ever and edged Roberto Carballes Baena in the first round. This was his first tour-level win since July. Norrie has troubled Dimitrov before and has a winning record. However both his wins have come on slow hard courts and Dimitrov should have the advantage on these quick indoor conditions. If Dimitrov is healthy, he should win this.
