ATP Metz Best Bets Including Norrie vs Carballes Baena

Cameron Norrie Citi Open

ATP 250 Metz 1/16-Finals

Gasquet – Monteiro: 04.11.2024 18:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Richard Gasquet has lost four of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Richard lost his opening match against Bergs in straight sets. Here in Metz, Gasquet was granted a wild card. His last win was three weeks ago in Vienna, where he defeated Lajovic in the qualifying tournament. Richard is 38 years old, and is no longer part of the top 100 in the rankings. Last year, around this time, Gasquet was injured that, and skipped this part of the season.

Thiago Monteiro has lost four of his last five matches. Last week in Bratislava, Monteiro lost in the qualifying tournament against Kachmazov in straight sets. The Brazilian loves to play on the slow clay courts. He never had any success on the indoor hard courts. He is currently number 100 in the rankings, so he is hoping for a solid result this week, to keep his top 100 status. Last year around this time, Monteiro played at the challenger tour level.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Gasquet is the slight favorite in this matchup. Richard usually has enough energy for the opening match. We believe that he will be well rested for this match, and with the help of the crowd, we expect Gasquet to get the job done tomorrow against Monteiro.

That being said, Gasquet winning is a value bet.

Norrie – Carballes Baena: 04.11.2024 19:30 CEST
H2H: 1-1

Cameron Norrie has lost four of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Norrie lost his opening qualifying match against Halys in straight sets, and played terribly throughout the whole match. This has been the worst season for the Brit, who dropped outside the top 50 in the rankings. So far this season, Norrie has not had any remarkable results. Last year around this time, Norrie was injured and skipped this part of the season.

Roberto Carballes Baena has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Baena lost his opening match against Tsitsipas in three tight sets, after winning the first set. The Spaniard usually delivers his best tennis on the slow clay courts. He rarely had any success on the indoor courts such as this one. Last year around this time, Baena played in Sofia, where he lost his opening match against Ramos-Vinolas in three tight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Norrie is the slight favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. Despite playing so poorly recently, Cameron is still a far better hard court player than Baena. We expect him to finally find his rhythm, and start winning. This is a great chance for him to build up his momentum, and get back to his winning days.

That being said, Norrie winning is a value bet.
