Holger served great, not offering any breakpoints. After that in the 1/8-Finals, Rune won against Stricker in straight sets. Last year in Basel, Rune reached the semifinals, where he lost against Auger-Aliassime in straight sets.

According to the bookies, Rune is the favorite in this match, and we agree with that. Goffin spent a lot of time on the court this week. On the other hand, Rune won both of his matches in straight sets, and played great tennis. We believe that Holger will continue in that fashion, and win once again in straight sets.

Denis Shapovalov has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Shanghai, Denis lost his second round match against Shelton in straight sets. Here in Basel, Denis won his opening match against Shang in straight sets. The Canadian served great throughout the whole match, offering and saving only one breakpoint. In the 1/8-Finals, Shapovalov won against Bautista-Agut in straight sets as we predicted. Denis is looking for a solid result this week to cement his top 100 status. In his comeback season, Shapovalov has reached only one quarterfinal result.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Shapovalov is the slight favorite in this matchup. Giovanni loves to play on the indoor courts, and has a heavy serve. We believe that he will serve well once again, and keep this match tight.
