ATP 500 Vienna quarterfinals
Machac – Draper: 25.10.2024 14:00 CEST
H2H: 3-1
Tomas Machac has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Almaty, Machac retired mid-match in the 1/8-Finals against Zhukayev. Here in Vienna, Tomas looked fully fit on the court. He has won his opening match against Marozsan in straight sets. Machac served great, not offering any breakpoints. After winning the first set 7-6, Tomas stepped up his level, and demolished Marozsan in the second set. In the 1/8-Finals, Machac won against Dimitrov as we predicted. Last year in Vienna, Machac reached the second round as a qualifier, when he fell short against Tsitsipas.
Jack Draper has won four of his last five matches. The last match Draper has played before Vienna was in Tokyo, where he reached the quarterfinals, retiring against Humbert mid-match. Draper then pulled out of the Shanghai Masters due to an abdominal injury. Here in Vienna, Draper won his opening match against Nishikori in tight straight sets as we predicted. In the 1/8-Finals, Jack demolished Darderi in straight sets as we predicted. Last year around this time, Draper spent some time playing at the challenger tour level.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Draper is the slight favorite in this matchup, and we can not agree with that. Machac is playing great tennis, so we believe that he will be fully confident coming into this matchup. Draper had a favorable draw so far, but we are yet to see him face a top 30 player. We believe that Machac is currently in better form, and that he will have an upper hand in this match.
That being said, Machac winning is a value bet.

Berrettini – Khachanov: 25.10.2024 18:00 CEST
H2H: 4-1
Matteo Berrettini has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Stockholm, Matteo reached the 1/8-Finals, where he was upset by Stricker in straight sets. Here in Vienna, Matteo won his opening match against Fucsovics in straight sets. In the 1/8-Finals, Matteo defeated Tiafoe in three sets as we predicted. His biggest results were on the clay courts. However, Matteo loves to play on the fast indoor courts such as this one as well. Last year around this time, Berrettini was injured, and skipped the second part of the season.
Karen Khachanov has won six straight matches. Last week in Almaty, Khachanov won the title, winning against Diallo in the final as we predicted. This was the second title of the season for the Russian. Here in Vienna, Khachanov won his opening match in straight sets easily against Seyboth Wild. In the 1/8-Finals, Khachanov won against Nakashima in three tight sets as we predicted. Last year in Vienna, Khachanov reached the quarterfinals, when he lost against Medvedev in three tight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Matteo is the slight favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. Berrettini played better than Khachanov this week, and faced tougher opponents en route to the quarterfinals. We believe that Berrettini will be a better player on the court today, and win this match.
That being said, Berrettini winning is a value bet.
