ATP Halle Open finalist Andrey Rublev in action.

On Day 3 at ATP Basel, defending champion Felix Auger-Aliassame will face Sebastien Baez, among other exciting encounters. Our other article features Casper Ruud vs Roberto Bautista Agut. Who will advance to the next round? We at LWOT offer our predictions.

ATP Basel Day 3 Predictions

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Sebastian Baez

Head-to-Head: Auger-Aliassame 1 vs 0 Baez

Regardless of Felix Auger-Alissame’s current stuttering form, Basel is familiar territory for him, having won the last two editions of this event, and while Baez can be a tricky opponent, anything other than the Canadian’s victory will be quite an upset.

Prediction: Auger-Allisame in 2

Jiri Lehecka vs Pedro Martinez

Head-to-Head: Lehecka 1 vs 0 Martinez

Pedro Martinez has already taken advantage of his preferred clay court season to seal his top 50 rankings for the year, and he is currently playing without any pressure. Unsurprisingly, he got bageled by Laslo Djere in Stockholm last week. As he steps on court against a more formidable opponent looking to end the year on a high, there should only be one outcome.

Prediction: Lehecka in 3

Andrey Rublev vs Alejandro Tabilo

Head-to-Head: First Meeting

Alejandro Tabilo dug very deep to repel everything the big-serving Croat, Marin Cilic, threw at him to win in two tie-breakers in the previous round. While I feel he can edge this with his serve, he is up against one of the best returners in the game, who showed flashes of brilliance with a composed straight-sets win over a tricky Nuno Borges in the previous round. If Rublev is in the mood, he will win.

Prediction: Rublev in 3
