ATP Vienna Best Bets Including Dimitrov vs Zhang

Grigor Dimitrov in action ahead of the ATP Stockholm Open.

ATP 500 Vienna 1/16-Finals

Khachanov – Seyboth Wild: 23.10.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 0-1

Karen Khachanov has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Almaty, Khachanov won the title, winning against Diallo in the final as we predicted. This was the second title of the season for the Russian. His first title this season was earlier this year, in Doha. Khachanov has been struggling with his form for the last couple of months. With his recent poor performances, Khachanov is no longer a top 20 player. Last year in Vienna, Khachanov reached the quarterfinals, when he lost against Medvedev in three tight sets.

Thiago Seyboth Wild has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Antwerp, Thiago lost his second round match against Tsitsipas in three tight sets as we predicted. Here in Vienna, Seyboth Wild successfully qualified for the main-draw tournament. In the first qualifying round, Thiago defeated Carreno-Busta in straight sets. After that, in the final qualifying round, Seyboth defeated Kovacevic in straight sets as well. Last year, around this time, Thiago played in Basel, where he failed to qualify for the main-draw tournament.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Khachanov is the favorite in this matchup. We believe that he will be tired in his opening match here in Vienna. He had almost no time to rest and prepare for this tournament. On the other hand, Thiago has already played two solid matches here in Vienna, and won both of them in straight sets easily. We expect him to keep this match tight.

That being said, Seyboth Wild covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Dimitrov – Zhang: 23.10.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting

Grigor Dimitrov has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Stockholm, Grigor reached the final, where he fell short against Tommy Paul in straight sets. The Bulgarian is fighting for a spot in the ATP Tour finals. So far this season, Dimitrov has won one title, which was at the beginning of the season, when he defeated Rune in the final of the ATP Brisbane. He has been consistent throughout the whole season, which brought him back to the top 10 in the rankings.

Zhizhen Zhang has lost four of his last five matches. Last week in Almaty, Zhang lost his opening match against Karatsev in straight sets. His last win was a month ago in Hangzhou, where he reached the final. Zhizhen is still a top 50 player, but he needs to start winning to secure his top 50 status.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Dimitrov is the big favorite in this matchup. He is having a great season, so we expect him to be fully confident coming into this matchup. On the other hand, Zhang has been struggling with his form for the last couple of weeks. We believe that Dimitrov will dominate from the very start, and win this match easily.

That being said, Dimitrov winning in straight sets is a value bet.
