ATP Tokyo Best Bets Including Draper vs Humbert

Jack Draper in action ahead of the ATP Stuttgart Open.

ATP 500 Tokyo quarterfinals

Fils – Shelton: 29.09.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 0-1

Arthur Fils has won three of his last five matches. Last week, Arthur represented France in the Davis Cup. He lost two matches, and won only one. Fils had his biggest results on clay this season. Here in Tokyo, Fils upset Fritz in the opening round in three tight sets. Today, in the second round, Berrettini won the first set 7-6 against Fils, but retired after that. Around this time last year, Fils played in Shanghai, where he lost against Tommy Paul in the third round of the tournament. Arthur is close to getting into the top 20, so he is hoping for a decent result this week in Tokyo.

Ben Shelton has won three of his last five matches. After he lost in the third round of the US Open against Tiafoe, Ben took some time off. Last week, Ben played in the Laver Cup, where he lost against Alcaraz, and won against Medvedev. Here in Tokyo, Ben defeated Opelka in three tight sets in the first round of the tournament. Today, in the 1/8-Finals, Ben defeated Navone in straight sets as we predicted. Shelton is looking for a solid result this week to cement his top 20 status. Last year in Tokyo, Ben won the tournament, winning against Karatsev in straight sets. That being said, Shelton has a lot of points to defend this week.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Ben is the slight favorite in this matchup. We believe that Shelton will dominate under these conditions against Fils.

That being said, Shelton winning is a value bet.

Humbert – Draper: 29.09.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting

Ugo Humbert has won three of his last five matches. After being upset by Comesana in the second round of the US Open, Humbert played in the Davis Cup for France. In his last Davis Cup match, Humbert lost against Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets as we predicted. Here in Tokyo, Humbert defeated Mochizuki in the opening round in straight sets as we predicted. Today, in the 1/8-Finals, Humbert defeated Nakashima in straight sets as we predicted. Ugo is still a top 20 player, and is looking for a solid result this week to cement his top 20 status. So far this season, Humbert has won two ATP titles already. Those results were at the beginning of the season, where he won the title in Marseille and in Dubai as well.

Jack Draper has lost three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago, Draper played in the Davis Cup where he represented Great Britain. Jack lost both of his singles matches in straight sets. Here in Tokyo, Draper defeated Bellucci in straight sets. Today, in the 1/8-Finals, Draper defeated Hurkacz in straight sets as we predicted. Last year in Tokyo, Draper lost his opening match against de Minaur in three tight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Draper is the slight favorite in this matchup. Jack played great tennis here in Tokyo, and we believe that he will continue in that fashion. Humbert was inconsistent for the last couple of weeks, and we believe that he will have no answer to Jack’s game.

That being said, Draper winning is a value bet.
