ATP Tokyo Best Bets Including Draper vs Hurkacz

ATP 500 Tokyo 1/8-Finals

Draper – Hurkacz: 27.09.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-4

Jack Draper has lost three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago, Draper played in the Davis Cup where he represented Great Britain. Jack lost both of his singles matches in straight sets. Here in Tokyo, Draper defeated Bellucci in straight sets. It was a great serving performance from the Brit, who did not offer a single break point throughout the whole match. Draper is looking for a solid result this week to cement his top 20 status. Last year in Tokyo, Draper lost his opening match against de Minaur in three tight sets.

Hubert Hurkacz has won three of his last five matches. The last match he played before Tokyo was at the US Open, where he lost against Thompson in the second round of the tournament. Here in Tokyo, Hurkacz defeated Giron in the opening round in three tight sets. Hubert underwent surgery on 15 July because of his meniscus injury. The doctors advised him to skip the remainder of the 2024 season, but Hurkacz trusts his body, and has come back to Montreal already. Hurkacz played great tennis around this time last year. He won the title in Shanghai, and was the runner-up in Basel. Last year in Tokyo, Hurkacz lost his opening match against Zhang in three tight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Both players have struggled with their form recently. However, we believe that Draper will be a better player under these conditions and win this match.

That being said, Draper winning is a value bet.

Nakashima – Humbert: 27.09.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-2

Brandon Nakashima has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Hangzhou, Brandon reached the semifinals, where he lost against Marin Cilic in straight sets as we predicted. Marin ended up winning the tournament as the lowest ranked player ever to win the tournament. Here in Tokyo, Brandon won his opening match against Tiafoe in straight sets. Last year in Tokyo, Nakashima lost his opening match against Uchiyama in three tight sets. Brandon is looking for a solid result this week, to get into the top 30 in the rankings.

Ugo Humbert has won three of his last five matches. After being upset by Comesana in the second round of the US Open, Humbert played in the Davis Cup for France. In his last Davis Cup match, Humbert lost against Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets as we predicted. Here in Tokyo, Humbert defeated Mochizuki in the opening round in straight sets as we predicted. Ugo is still a top 20 player, and is looking for a solid result this week to cement his top 20 status. So far this season, Humbert has won two ATP titles already. Those results were at the beginning of the season, where he won the title in Marseille and in Dubai as well.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Humbert loves to play in these fast conditions. Ugo won both of their head-to-head matches on hard courts, and we believe that he will once again.

That being said, Humbert winning is a value bet.
