ATP Montreal Best Bets Including Rune vs Raonic

Holger Rune ATP Indian Wells BNP Paribas Open

ATP Masters 1000 Canada 1/32-Finals

Thompson – Draper: 06.08.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting

Jordan Thompson has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Washington, Jordan reached the quarterfinals where he lost against Korda in straight sets. A week before that, Thompson played the final in Atlanta where he lost against Nishioka in three tight sets. He is looking to get some success here in Canada to get into the top 30 in the rankings. So far this season, Jordan has not had any remarkable results. Besides winning the title in Los Cabos earlier this season, Thompson did not win any other titles. However, he has been consistent throughout the whole season.

Jack Draper has lost three of his last five matches. The Brit is on the verge of getting out of the top 30 in the rankings. Last week, Jack played at the Olympic Games in Paris. He lost there in the second round of the tournament against Fritz.  Jack performed well on the grass court part of the season. He won the title in Stuttgart, and reached the quarterfinals in London as well. His last hard-court match was in Miami in March, where he lost in the second round against Jarry in three tight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Draper is the favorite in this matchup. Draper has been struggling lately. On the other hand, Thompson had two solid weeks in the States. We believe that he is well-prepared for the second part of the season, so we believe that he will keep this match tight.

That being said, Thompson covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Rune – Raonic: 06.08.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-0

Holger Rune has won three of his last five matches. His last match was three weeks ago in Hamburg, where he retired mid-match against Fils due to knee discomfort. Rune was trailing 6-4 to 4-1 when he made this decision. After that, Rune had to skip the Olympic Games as well. His last competitive hard court match was in Miami in March, where he lost against Marozsan in the second round of the tournament. This season was not the greatest for the Dane.

Milos Raonic has lost three of his last five matches. Since his comeback, Milos has been struggling on the court with his fitness and injuries. He is still not fully fit, but he is capable of playing at least one solid match. Last week in Paris, Milos lost in the first round of the Olympic Games against Koepfer. His last hard court match was in Indian Wells, where he retired in the second round of the tournament against Rune.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Rune is the favorite in this matchup. We are not sure if he is 100% fit due to his knee injury. On the other hand, Milos is well rested, and ready for the second part of the season. The Canadian serves great, so we believe that he will keep this match tight.

That being said, Raonic covering the games handicap is a value bet.
