Last year in Washington, Frances reached the quarterfinals where she lost against Dan Evans in straight sets.
Sebastian Korda has won three of his last five matches. This is his first tournament after he lost in the first round of Wimbledon against Mpetshi Perricard. Here in Washington, Korda finally found his way. Sebastian had it easy in the first round against Garin. In the 1/8-Finals, Kokkinakis retired against Korda mid-match. Yesterday, in the quarterfinals, Sebastian won easily in straight sets against Thompson, without losing his serve.
