WTA Prague Day 3 Predictions

Viktoriya Tomova vs Jana Fett

Head-to-Head: Tomova 1-0 Fett

Viktoriya Tomova was pushed in her first-round match, especially in the first set. She did well to win that set as it proved to be the key in the end. Tomova has shown some good tennis this year and is enjoying her most successful year so far, in her career. Jana Fett was clinical in her first-round match as she won just her second tour-level match of the year. Fett has won two ITF-level tournaments on clay this year and loves to play on the dirt. Tomova is the higher-ranked player but she was not convincing in the previous round.
Prediction: Fett in 3

Anhelina Kalinina vs Elsa Jacquemot

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Anhelina Kalinina showed a lot of perseverance in her first-round match to win in three sets. Kalinina loves to play on clay and it has been her most successful surface. She is the #3 seed here at the Prague Open and would to get some match wins before the Olympics. Elsa Jacquemot won her first tour-level match of the year as she defeated Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in straight sets. Jacquemot has a bright future ahead of her but Kalinina is too strong for her currently.
Prediction: Kalinina in 2

Katerina Siniakova vs Laura Samson

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Katerina Siniakova looked quite unwell in her first-round match. She had the medical staff out several times and did not look like her usual bouncy self. Her opponent played a good match and pushed her but Siniakova edged it in the third set. With Marketa Vondrousova’s withdrawal, Siniakova is in the Olympic singles, in place of her. The 16-year-old, Laura Samson, defeated Tara Wurth in her WTA Tour debut. She hits so hard and is one to look out for in the future. Siniakova should win if she is healthy.
Prediction: Siniakova in 2

Linda Noskova vs Eva Lys

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Linda Noskova is the top seed at this year’s Prague Open and she started her week with a solid first-round win. Noskova has a great opportunity to win her first WTA title this week but she will also be looking towards the Olympics. Eva Lys showed great fighting spirit as she won her first-round match in straight sets. She is closing in on the Top 100 but will have to play and serve a lot better if she is going to stand any chance against Noskova.
Prediction: Noskova in 2
