ATP Wimbledon Best Bets Including Zverev vs Carballes Baena

ATP Hamburg finalist Alexander Zverev in action.

ATP Wimbledon 1/64-Finals

Carballes Baena – Zverev: 02.07.2024 15:30 CEST
H2H: 0-1

Roberto Carballes Baena has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Mallorca, Baena reached the 1/8-Finals where he lost against Gaël Monfils in straight sets. That was also his only preparation tournament for Wimbledon. Before that, Baena lost in the second round at the French Open against Novak Djokovic. Being a Spaniard, Carballes never had any remarkable results on grass. Last year at Wimbledon, Carballes lost in the second round against Holger Rune in straight sets.

Alexander Zverev has won three of his last five matches. After he lost against Carlos Alcaraz in the French Open final as we predicted, Sascha took some time off. Two weeks ago, Zverev played in Halle, where he reached the semifinals. Hurkacz defeated him in straight sets as we predicted. After losing in the Grand Slam final yet again, Zverev needs to find his strength, and fight back. He is one of the biggest favorites this year to lift the trophy. However, Zverev never had any success here in London. He is yet to reach the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. Last year at Wimbledon, Zverev lost in the third round against Matteo Berrettini.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Zverev is the huge favorite in this matchup. We believe that he will win this match. However, Baena is a solid player, and we believe that he could keep this match at least a little bit interesting.

That being said, Baena covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Roberto Carballes Baena +8.5 games handicap @2.00 @bet365

Karatsev – Khachanov: 02.07.2024 15:30 CEST
H2H: 2-5

Aslan Karatsev has lost four straight matches. Unfortunately, the injuries have ruined his career recently. Two weeks ago in Halle, Karatsev tried to qualify for the main-draw tournament. He lost in the first qualifying round against Duckworth in three tight sets. That was also his first grass court tournament of the season. Last year at Wimbledon, Karatsev won in the first round against van Assche. However, he could not do much against Rublev in the second round.

Karen Khachanov has lost four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago, Khachanov lost in the first round against Sebastian Korda in straight sets. Just a week before that, Karen lost against Vukic in the first round of the ATP Hertogenbosch. So far this season, Khachanov has played only two matches on grass, and lost both of them. Last time Khachanov played at Wimbledon was in 2021, when he reached the quarterfinals where he lost against Shapovalov in five sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Karatsev is the big underdog in this matchup. Considering that both players are out of form, we believe that Aslan will have his chance against Khachanov. Karatsev is a great server, so we believe that he will win his service games and keep this match tight.

That being said, Karatsev covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Aslan Karatsev +5.5 games handicap @1.80 @bet365
