ATP Halle Best Bets Including Sinner vs Struff

Jannik Sinner in action ahead of the US Open.

ATP 500 Halle quarterfinals

Hurkacz – Giron: 21.06.2024 12:00 CEST
H2H: 1-0

Hubert Hurkacz has won four of his last five matches. This was his first grass court tournament of the season. Hurkacz is one of the best grass court players at the moment. Two weeks ago, Hubert reached the 1/8-Finals at the French Open where he lost against Dimitrov in three tight sets. Here in Halle, Hurkacz won his first round match in straight sets against Flavio Cobolli. In the second round today, Hurkacz won against Duckworth in two tight sets as we predicted. Last year in Halle, Hubert lost against Griekspoor in the second round. After that, Hurkacz had a solid performance at Wimbledon where he reached the 1/8-Finals, losing against Djokovic in four sets.

Marcos Giron has won three of his last five matches. Last week, Giron lost against Draper, who went on to win the tournament in the second round of the ATP Stuttgart. Here in Halle, Giron upset Rublev in the first round in straight sets. Marcos was all over the court and was hitting big shots. His return game was on point, breaking Rublev´s serve in both sets. In the second round, Giron won against Berrettini in three tough sets. It was one of the biggest wins of his career. Last year in Halle, Giron was defeated by Medvedev in the first round.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Hurkacz is a big favorite in this matchup. Looking at their current form, we believe that Giron could upset Hubert here in Halle. Giron already had two big wins this week, so we believe that he will have momentum on his side.

That being said, Giron covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Sinner – Struff: 21.06.2024 15:00 CEST
H2H: 2-0

Jannik Sinner has won four of his last five matches. The new number 1 lost against Alcaraz two weeks ago at the French Open in the semifinals. The grass court part of the season will be his favorite one, once he gets the momentum going. Here in Halle, Sinner was set down in the first round against Griekspoor. However, once he felt comfortable on grass, Sinner turned the match around easily. In the second round, Sinner struggled against Marozsan, winning in three sets. Last year in Halle, Sinner retired mid-match in his quarterfinal match against Bublik. After that, Sinner lost in the semifinals against Djokovic at Wimbledon.

Jan-Lennard Struff has won four of his last five matches. Last week, Struff played in Stuttgart where he unfortunately had to withdraw from his quarterfinal match against Nakashima. It was only due to an illness, so we should not be concerned if he is injured. Here in Halle, Struff won his first round match against Darderi in three tough sets. Struff even had to save one match point in the third set tiebreak. In the second round, Struff won against Tsitsipas in straight sets as we predicted. Last year in Halle, Struff lost in the second round against Alexander Bublik in three sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Struff is the underdog in this matchup. Sinner still has not shown his best tennis on grass. On the other hand, Struff did really well in his second round match against Tsitsipas. We believe that Struff will keep this match tight, and maybe even win.

That being said, Struff covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Jan-Lennard Struff +3.5 games handicap @1.80 @bet365
