In a rain-hit day in the Netherlands, we’ve thankfully managed to secure three of our four semifinalists. In the semifinal we do know at the WTA 250 in Den Bosch, former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu takes on Dalma Galfi. Whilst in the other match we await the last quarterfinal between 19-year-old Robin Montgomery and World #16 16 Ekaterina Alexandrova. The winner of that will face second seed Liudmila Samsonova–which will be added to this piece once we know that result.

Bianca Andreescu vs Dalma Galfi
Head-to-head: First meeting
It’s crazy to think that Bianca Andreescu is currently ranked #228 in the world. Ofcourse it’s mostly down to injuries plaguing a majority of her career but it’s still a shame given the game she possesses, as we saw when she won the US Open five years ago now. Despite struggling in the first round she produced a good performance in the second beating Yuan routinely before besting Naomi Osaka in an epic final set tiebreak in the quarterfinals, in what was arguably her best performance since Miami last year.
Galfi’s had a kind draw on her side and used her form through qualifying to get a few wins here. Simply put, in Andreescu is able to recover from her win against Osaka and produce the same level of tennis, it’s hard to see Galfi living up with Andreescu’s effortless power.
