WTA French Open Swiatek vs Gauff Best Bet

Iga Swiatek featured in one of the top 5 WTA matches of 2024.

WTA French Open semifinals

Swiatek – Gauff: 06.06.2024
H2H: 10-1

Iga Świątek has won 17 straight matches. The last time she lost was in April against Rybakina in the semifinals of WTA Stuttgart. Since then, Iga has lifted trophies in Madrid and Rome as well. Two weeks ago in Rome, Swiatek won in the final against Sabalenka in easy straight sets. Here in Paris, Iga lost only one set against Osaka. Other than that, Swiatek was dominant in every single match. In the first round, Swiatek defeated Jeanjean in easy straight sets. After that, Naomi Osaka played her best match in a long time and was on the verge of winning against Swiatek. However, Iga saved the match point and turned around the match and eventually won in three sets. In the third round, Iga defeated Bouzkova in two easy sets. The fact that she only lost two games in her 1/8-Finals and quarterfinal match together shows how great Iga is. Potapova could not win a single game in her 1/8-Final match against Iga, which lasted only 40 minutes. Yesterday, Iga dominated yet again, this time against Vondrousova winning 6-0 6-2 in just over an hour. With the top seeds losing tonight, it seems that Swiatek will win another French Open title. The defending champion, Iga, has won the title every time she made it this far in Paris.

Coco Gauff has won five straight matches. Two weeks ago, Gauff lost against Iga Świątek in the semifinals of WTA Rome in straight sets. So far in Paris, Coco has lost only one set, which was in her quarterfinal match against Jabeur. Gauff won her first round match against Avdeeva 6-1 without offering any breakpoints and showed us why she is one of the biggest favorites after Swiatek to lift the title this year. In the second round, Gauff won comfortably in straight sets against Zidansek. Yastremska also did not have an answer in the 1/16-Finals against Gauff and lost in straight sets as well. Coco won her 1/8-Final match against Cocciaretto 6-1 6-2 while hitting 19 winners with 15 unforced errors. Yesterday, Coco was set down against Jabeur. After she lost the first set, Coco kept her composure and started making fewer unforced errors. Once she found her rhythm, Gauff was unstoppable. In the end, Coco won the match in three sets. The 20-year-old was already twice in this situation, playing in the semifinals at the Grand Slam. In 2022, Coco lost in the French Open final against Swiatek. Last fall, Coco won the title at the US Open, meaning that she won both of her semifinal Grand Slam matches so far in her career.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Swiatek is a big favorite in this matchup. Last time they met in Paris in 2022, Swiatek lost only four games against Gauff. Being an American, Gauff loves fast surfaces the most. You could say that the clay surface is her least favorite one. We believe that Swiatek will win easily against Gauff yet again.

That being said, Swiatek covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Iga Świątek -5.5 games handicap @1.73 @bet365
