ATP Madrid 1/8-Finals
Auger-Aliassime – Ruud: 30.04.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 2-4
Felix Auger-Aliassime has won four of his last five matches. Last week, Aliassime reached the quarterfinals in Munich where he lost against Struff in straight sets. Here in Madrid, Auger had a very tough first match against Nishioka. He ended up winning in three sets after being on the court for over 2 hours. Two days ago, Auger won easily against Mannarino in straight sets. Today, Mensik unfortunately retired against him mid-match. Other than that, Auger has not have any remarkable results on the clay this season so far.
Casper Ruud is one of the best clay court players at the moment. Last week, Casper Ruud won his first ATP 500 title in Barcelona. He won all of his matches in straight sets throughout the tournament. A week before that, Ruud reached the final in Monte Carlo where he lost against Tsitsipas in straight sets. Here in Madrid, Ruud won his first match against Kecmanovic in straight sets as we predicted. Today, he defeated Norrie 6-2 6-4 in another great match. It is not mentioning that Ruud did not lose a single set in his last 7 matches.
Best Bet to Make
Casper Ruud is in great form. He loves to play on clay, and we believe that he will continue his winning streak tomorrow. Auger-Aliassime did not have any remarkable results on the clay, and we believe that he will have big problems against Ruud tomorrow.
That being said, Ruud winning in straight sets is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Ruud to win 2-0 @1.91 @bet365
Hurkacz – Fritz: 30.04.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-3
Hubert Hurkacz has won four of his last five matches. Even though the clay court is his least favorite surface, he is doing well at the moment. Two weeks ago, Hurkacz reached 1/8-
Finals in Monte Carlo, where he lost against Ruud in straight sets. Here in Madrid, Hurkacz won both of his matches in straight sets. Yesterday, Hurkacz defeated Altmaier 6-4 7-6. It was not his best match, but he still won. Hurkacz got his serve broken 3 times in this match, but hit his ground strokes well, having 28 winners with only 10 unforced errors.
Taylor Fritz has won four of his last five matches. He played last week in the final of the ATP 250 in Munich. Fritz was defeated by Struff in two sets. Here in Madrid, Taylor won both of his matches in straight sets. He has lost his serve only once in those two matches. Yesterday, Fritz defeated Baez in straight sets and showed great tennis. It seems like this faster surface in Madrid is great for his playing style.
Best Bet to Make
Both Hurkacz and Fritz have never played against each other on clay. We believe that this meeting will be a very tight match for both of them. Both of them are great servers and not the best returners. We believe that there will not be many breaks in this match. Expect a long match with three possibly sets.
That being said, over games is a value bet.
