ATP Munich Quarterfinal Predictions Including Alexander Zverev vs Cristian Garin

Cristian Garin US OPEN

It’s a strong quarterfinal lineup at the ATP 250 in Munich with six of the top eight seeds making the last eight, including two Germans. Amidst all the rain delays and snowstorms, the schedule is still going as planned. As always, we here at LWOT will offer our predictions for every match on the slate for Day 5. But who will advance to the semifinals?

ATP Munich Quarterfinal Predictions

Taylor Fritz vs Jack Draper

Head-to-Head: Fritz 0-1 Draper

Taylor Fritz has lost four of his last seven matches since winning the title at the Delray Beach Open. Fritz has had some tough defeats against players he is supposed to beat. However, the American put up a fantastic showing in his opening round match against Alejandro Moro Canas, and he will aim to build on that victory against a strong opponent, Jack Draper. Draper has struggled with injury issues since coming to the tour. He made a great start to the year reaching the final in Adelaide but another injury in Acapulco derailed his progress. The highly talented Brit has struggled for his wins this week, but he got better with every set. Fritz might be undercooked for this match so I am going with Draper.
Prediction: Draper in 3

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Jan-Lennard Struff

Head-to-Head: Aliassime 2-1 Struff

Felix Auger-Aliassime showed great strength in his first-round match, as he saved a match point before beating Maximillian Marterer. The Canadian had an easy day at the office in his second-round match as he dispatched his opponent in straight sets. Jan-Lennard Struff is into his first quarterfinal of the year after defeating Botic van de Zandschulp in his opening-round match. The German has shown his clay prowess as he reached the final in Madrid last year. With that big serve and home advantage, Struff should advance to the semifinals.
Prediction: Struff in 3

Holger Rune vs Marc-Andrea Huesler

Head-to-Head: Rune 1-2 Huesler

Few people expected Marc-Andrea Huesler to have a positive record against Holger Rune. Huesler won his only ATP title by beating Rune in the final of Sofia in 2022. The Swiss qualifier is coming into this match with an astounding win against Yannick Hanfmann and would look to use his lefty serve to trouble Rune. Holger Rune seems to have found his form on clay as he looks to build on his Monte Carlo run. Rune will be inspired to level the head-to-head against Huesler and get one step closer to defending his title.
Prediction: Rune in 2

Alexander Zverev vs Cristian Garin

Head-to-Head: Zverev 1-1 Garin

The No.1 seed Alexander Zverev won his first match in Munich since 2021 by defeating Jurij Rodionov. Zverev did not look particularly sharp in the first set of the match but improved in the second set. The German would have to step up against an opponent he had previously lost to at this event. Cristian Garin has struggled with injury and form over the last couple of seasons. The Chilean is a formidable player on clay and can trouble anyone on his day. This is the battle between two former Munich Open champions but the higher peak and home advantage will help Zverev to come out on top.
Prediction: Zverev in 3
