Casper Ruud has been playing really well this year. He lost two finals this year already. One in Los Cabos against Thompson and the other one 10 days ago in Acapulco against de Minaur. Here in Indian Wells, Ruud showed his good form, winning both matches in straight sets. His opponent, Gaël Monfils, is 37 years old but playing like a youngster at the moment. It is good for tennis to see this legend back at that level. In Indian Wells, Monfils has played three matches already. He played his best tennis in the second round against Hurkacz, where he won in three sets. In his last match where he played against Norrie, Monfils played for over three hours. At the end of the match, 37-year-old looked really exhausted. We believe that Monfils will physically not be ready for Ruud. Casper Ruud loves to play long rallies and let the opponents run a lot. That being said, Ruud to cover handicap games is a value bet!

Daniil Medvedev had a really tough match against Korda in the 1/16-Finals two nights ago. Medvedev made many double faults (10) and, overall, many mistakes. He had more unforced errors than winners in the match where Medvedev really struggled. It is good for him to know that he can win matches against good players even when not playing his best tennis. His opponent, Dimitrov, won twice against the Frenchmen. He won both matches in straight sets and he looked perfect. One month ago, Dimitrov played perfect tennis in Rotterdam against lower ranked players. However, once he had to step up the game against the better players, Dimitrov failed. This is pretty common with him. We believe that he will not rise to the occasion today yet again. Medvedev will definitely not repeat his poor performance and if he steps up his game, Medvedev should win tonight easily!

Taylor Fritz absolutely dominated against Baez in the 1/16-Finals as we predicted! The young American is always playing his best tennis in front of his home crowd. Fritz served outstandingly well and did not offer any breakpoints! His opponent, Rune, struggled a lot at the end of the last season. Rune made many coaching staff changes, and it seems like he is playing well again. In Acapulco 10 days ago, Rune lost in the semifinals against Ruud. Here in Indian Wells, he got lucky as Raonic had to withdraw from the tournament. In the 1/16-Finals, Rune played really well against Musetti. We believe that Fritz is currently a better player, even though Rune is ranked better. Fritz will probably repeat his good performance from two nights ago. The American loves to play at home, as we already mentioned, and we believe that he will win tonight once again!
